米国国務省日本語研修所の方々が来広されました

　2022年12月７日と８日にかけて，広島にお越しになった米国国務省日本語研修所の方々と本学学生が交流しました。

　７日には宮島を訪問され，宮島学を専攻する学生等と一緒に宮島の文化を学習しました。

　８日には本学を訪問され，本学の森永学長と面談後，日本語授業に参加したほか，日本語による学生との意見交換を実施しました。研修所の方々は，若者を通した日本文化の学習に意欲的に取り組まれていたほか，本学学生もアメリカの政府機関の方々と接する珍しい機会を得て，アメリカ人の目を通して自分たちの文化の在り方を振り返ることができました。最後に，本学空手部とも交流されました。空手部は演武を実演したほか，座談会では礼を重んじる姿勢や仲間と共に稽古に励むことの意義などを説明しました。

　本学学生の国際感覚涵養や自文化理解向上に役立つ有意義な２日間となりました。

 

　On 7 and 8 December 2022, students from the Japanese Language and Area Studies Training Center of the U.S. Department of State, Foreign Service Institute visited Hiroshima.

　On the 7th, they visited Miyajima and studied Miyajima culture with PUH students majoring in Miyajima studies.

　On the 8th, they came to PUH and met President Morinaga, participated in Japanese language class and exchanged opinions with PUH students in Japanese. The participants were enthusiastic to learn about Japanese culture through young people, and PUH students also had the rare opportunity to meet with people from the U.S. government, enabling them to reflect on their own culture through the American perspectives. Finally, they also interacted with our university's karate club. The karate club gave a demonstration and, in a round-table discussion, explained the importance of respect for propriety and the value of training together with one's friends.

 It was a meaningful two-day event that helped to cultivate an international outlook in our students and improve their understanding of their own culture.
